This Privacy Policy describes how Passport Photo App ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by ILAMASTER Limited, collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our passport and ID photo creation application ("App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Photographs Containing Facial Images

The App collects and processes photographs that contain your facial image for the sole purpose of creating passport and ID photos. This includes:

  • Photos you capture using your device's camera
  • Photos you import from your device's photo library
  • Photos you import from files stored on your device

Important: The App does NOT use facial recognition technology, does NOT extract biometric data from your face, and does NOT analyze facial features or create facial signatures. We only process your photographs as images for editing and formatting purposes.

1.2 Project Data

When you save a project in the App, we store:

  • Your edited photo and associated editing layers
  • Template information (passport/ID photo specifications)
  • Background color and adjustment settings
  • Project creation and modification dates
  • Thumbnail images for project previews

1.3 Technical Information

We may automatically collect certain technical information:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App usage statistics and crash reports
  • Anonymous analytics data to improve app functionality

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do NOT collect:

  • Your name, email address, or contact information (the App does not require account registration)
  • Biometric data or facial recognition data
  • Location data
  • Your browsing history or activity outside the App

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Photo Processing

We use your photographs containing facial images for the following purposes:

  • Background Removal: Removing or replacing the background of your photo using AI technology (see Section 3 and 5 for data processing details)
  • Photo Editing: Applying adjustments, filters, and edits as you direct
  • Format Conversion: Resizing and formatting your photo to meet passport/ID photo specifications
  • Project Saving: Storing your edited projects locally on your device for later access
  • Export: Creating final passport photos for saving to your photo library or sharing

2.2 App Functionality

We use collected information to:

  • Provide core app features and functionality
  • Save your editing projects for future access
  • Generate thumbnails for project galleries
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs
  • Understand how users interact with the App

3. Data Processing and Services

3.1 Background Removal Service

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE: When you use the background removal feature, your photograph is sent to our servers for AI-powered background removal processing.

What we share:

  • Your photograph containing your facial image
  • The image is sent as temporary data for processing only

Purpose:

  • To perform AI-powered background removal/replacement

Processing:

  • Images are sent to our servers via encrypted HTTPS connection with JWT authentication
  • Real-time server-side computational processing
  • Immediate deletion of the image after processing is complete
  • The processed image is returned to your device and stored locally

Data Retention:

  • Images are processed in real-time and deleted immediately after processing
  • Images are not permanently stored on our servers
  • Images are not used for any purpose other than the requested background removal
  • Images are not used for training AI models or any other purpose

You can opt-out: Background removal is optional. You may use the App without this feature.

3.2 Analytics Services

We use the following analytics services to understand app usage:

  • Google Analytics - Usage statistics and crash reporting
  • Firebase Analytics - App performance monitoring
  • Apple Analytics - iOS-specific performance data (if you have opted in with Apple)

These services collect anonymous, aggregated data and do NOT have access to your photographs.

3.3 No Other Sharing

We do NOT:

  • Sell your photographs or data to third parties
  • Share your photos with advertisers
  • Use your photos for marketing purposes
  • Provide your photos to any other services or companies

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

All your photographs and projects are stored locally on your device only:

  • Stored in the App's private container using Realm database
  • Image files saved to the App's Documents directory
  • Not accessible to other apps on your device
  • Not uploaded to any cloud service (unless you explicitly choose to export/share)
  • We do not store, collect, or retain any photographs or project data on our servers

4.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • All data transmissions use HTTPS encryption
  • API authentication using JWT (JSON Web Tokens)
  • Local data is protected by iOS sandboxing
  • No centralized server storing your photos or personal data

4.3 Data Transmission

  • Photos sent to background removal processing are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
  • Authentication tokens are generated locally and securely managed
  • Image size limits enforced to prevent unauthorized large data transfers

5. Face Data Storage & Retention

5.1 Local Storage

All passport photo projects and facial images are stored locally on your device only in the app's private storage:

  • Device Storage: Photos, projects, and all associated data remain exclusively on your device
  • No Server Storage: We do not store, collect, or retain any facial images or project data on our servers
  • Your Control: Data remains on your device until you manually delete it through the app or uninstall the application

5.2 Server Processing

When you use the optional background removal feature, your image (containing facial data) is temporarily transmitted to our servers for real-time background removal processing:

What Happens:

  • Your photograph is transmitted to our servers via encrypted HTTPS connection with JWT authentication
  • The image undergoes server-side computational processing to remove the background
  • Immediate Deletion: The image is deleted from our servers immediately after processing is complete
  • The processed image is returned to your device and stored locally only
  • We do not permanently store or retain any copy of your facial images on our servers

No Retention:

  • Images are processed in real-time memory only
  • No images are saved to disk or databases on our servers
  • No images are used for any purpose other than the background removal you requested
  • We have no access to your facial images after processing is complete

Your Control:

  • Background removal is optional and only happens when you explicitly choose to use this feature
  • You can use all core app features (photo editing, templates, sizing, export) without ever sending images to our servers
  • You can opt-out of server processing by not using the background removal feature

5.3 Data Retention Timeline

  • Local Device Storage: Photographs and projects remain until you manually delete them or uninstall the app
  • Server-Transmitted Images: Deleted immediately after processing (measured in seconds)
  • Processing Logs: Any temporary processing data is automatically purged after API response completion

6. Data Deletion

6.1 How to Delete Your Data

You can delete your data at any time:

Delete Individual Projects:

  1. Open the "My Projects" section
  2. Swipe left on any project
  3. Tap "Delete"
  4. Confirm deletion

Delete All App Data:

  1. Delete the App from your device
  2. This removes all locally stored photos, projects, and data

7. Your Privacy Rights
